TÄHTI SAI MASTOT JA PURJEET

Moottoripurjehtija Tähti on Suomen vanhimpia veneitä: tuotu Amerikasta Saimaalle 1800 ja 1900 lukujen vaihteessa. Veneessä on ollut yksi masto keulassa amerikkalaisten Cat-veneiden tapaan, ja myös mesaani. Nyt siihen on rakennettu uudet mastot ja niihin kahvelipurjeet.  Purjeet on suunnitellut ja valmistanut Harro Koskinen. Perä on rakennettu alkuperäisten linjojen mukaiseksi.

Veneen vaiheet Suomessa ovat melko hyvin tiedossa, mutta valmistaja tai valmistuspaikka ei ole selvinnyt.

Motorsailor Tähti (Star) is one of the oldest boats in Finland. The boat was imported from USA at the end of 1800's or at  the beginning of 1900's. Tähti has originally had one mast just like cat-boats, and the mizzen mast, too. The owner, Vesa Kauhanen, informed that new masts and sails have been produced  and the stern has been rebuilt along the original lines. Tähti has been used for summer boating. The home port is Kuopio. 

The history of Tähti in Finland is rather well known, but the designer and boatyard have remained obscure.
